The Land / Subdivision Committee: The Land / Subdivision Committee reviews and makes recommendations on all preliminary and final plats, location and sketchmaps, minor subdivisions, site development plans and subdivision variances. For more information on the Land/Subdivision process, please contact the Springfield-Sangamon County Regional Planning Commission at (217) 525-3110.

Zoning Issues: All zoning questions can be handled by the City’s Building and Zoning Department, who can be reached at (217) 789-2171.

Business Licensing: The Office of Business Licensing handles municipal permitting and licensing. All applications and forms required by the Springfield City Code are available for viewing and downloading on the City’s website, or you can contact the office at (217) 788-8426.

Environmental Issues: The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency monitors all issues regarding air, water and land pollution in the State of Illinois. For more information on the various regulations used to monitor business activity, visit the IEPA website.
