The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce
strives to offer its members tangible benefits to assist them in
running their businesses more efficiently and cost-effectively. The
following are current discounts offered to Chamber members:

Financial Health Program
The Prosperity Project is an education and training program
that promotes personal financial life skills to individuals
and their families, including teens. Employers benefit
from sponsoring the program as financially healthy employees
improve workplace efficiency, are more productive, have less
turnover and absenteeism, and increase bottom-line
profitability. The program combines financial
education classes, written planning and ongoing financial
coaching.
Employees benefit from the program by developing their
financial skills which increases their ability to stretch
their paychecks, reduce debts and family conflicts, and
manage their retirement plans more effectively. Many
employees have realized a savings of over $4,000 a year
through this program. The cost of a Trial Membership is $99
which entitles a household to the 8 hour Financial
Self-Defense Workshop (over 4 evenings). After completion
of workshop, Trial Members have the option to continue as
Full Members for a monthly fee. For more information,

Flexible Spending Agreement Discount
Chamber member business offers a special discount for its
administration of an employer-sponsored flexible spending agreement.
An FSA can provide savings to employers through reduced
employment-related taxes. At the same time, an FSA offers employees
an easy way to pay for out-of-pocket medical and daycare costs while
reducing their taxable income. Contact Lisa Schafer, Director of
Operations, at 525-1173 Ext. 203 for more information.
Limited Medical
Plan
Limited medical plans are now available, through the
Chamber, to member businesses and their staff.
A
limited medical plan is an affordable option for hourly,
part-time, seasonal or contractual employees and their
eligible dependents that do not qualify for or have access
to traditional coverage such as a Major Medical Plan.
A limited medical plan is meant to provide coverage for
day-to-day medical costs. Limited medical plans (or
mini-med plans) are designed to meet day-to-day medical
expenses and have capped benefits-hence, limited-to keep
premiums low.
While maximum benefit levels may be limited, the quality
of care provided with these plans is not. Rest assured that
employees participating in a limited medical plan, from
Health Alliance, receive excellent service and a high level
of care. HCH Administration, Inc., a subsidiary of
Health Alliance Medical Plans, manages claims out of Peoria,
IL, for limited medical plans.
For businesses, the ability to offer their employees a
health insurance benefit is an excellent strategy for
recruiting and retaining quality workers. It is up to the
employer to decide who pays the insurance premium. No
employer contribution is typically required; however most
employers cover some portion of the monthly premium. For

Publications
The Chamber produces a community map, demographical and statistical
publications, and other valuable resources that are available to
Chamber members at a discounted rate.
