Springfield Clinic provides health care in 80 medical specialties and subspecialties and is proud to offer a wide array of additional patient-focused services. We offer convenient onsite labs, drive-up labs, radiology, rehabilitation services, an outpatient surgery center and four urgent care locations. We work with the hospitals in our community to provide hospital medicine, critical care medicine and trauma and acute care surgery and ensure our patients get the care they need at every level of acuity.

Founded 150 years ago by the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis as Springfield’s first hospital, HSHS St. John’s Hospital serves as the flagship of Hospital Sisters Health System. With over 400 licensed beds, the hospital offers the full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient care from emergency and trauma, labor and delivery and women’s services, general and specialized surgery, cancer care, cardiovascular services and many outpatient services like advanced diagnostic imaging, lab and physical therapy. St. John’s is a regional trauma center designated as a level I Trauma Center by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital is the ONLY children’s hospital in Springfield and serves a 90-mile radius with comprehensive, specialized services. The Women and Infants Center features a Level III Perinatal Center for high-risk pregnancies, in addition to a five-bed obstetric emergency department and is the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care unit in the region, caring for very premature or critically ill newborns. Our Pediatric Day Hospital is the only one in Springfield, offering chemotherapy, infusion services, IV medications, blood products, sedation and specialty lab services for children. Plus, we are a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, providing access to all pediatric subspecialties. The Pediatric Intensive Care unit provides medical care and 24/7 monitoring for critically ill or injured infants, children and teenagers.
Prairie Cardiovascular, a specialty service line within HSHS, offers groundbreaking cardiac care such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and WATCHMAN implants from internationally recognized cardiologists.
