Supporting the next generation of workforce is critical to our members' success. Our team works to facilitate collaboration between school districts, higher education institutions and our business community, provide leadership training to local professionals, and support young, emerging leaders in our community. By investing in our local professionals and giving our area students a launch pad to start their careers, Springfield continues to be a leader in downstate development.

Career Connections*

Explore our database of area professionals who are passionate about their careers and willing to give a 30-minute interview to students researching their career interests.

 

Leadership Springfield

As the premier leadership training program in the Capitol City, Leadership Springfield is a 14 week series of half day programs during which participants gain leadership skills and in-depth exposure to critical issues affecting the Springfield area.

 

On The Job Blog*

Weekly updates on The Chamber's programming, industry insights, and stories about our member's unique programs to build workforce pipelines.

 

RPM Lab*

HR professionals join area high school students in the classroom to discuss resume writing, how to prepare for an interview, workplace expectations and conduct mock interviews. More details to come.

 

RISE Young Professionals

RISE Springfield is the young professionals networking group of The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, designed to engage emerging business leaders ages 21-39 with professional development, resources, and networking opportunities.

 

Sangamon Intern Collective*

Any intern working in the greater Springfield or Sangamon County area are invited to join us over winter break or for 6 weeks during Summer 2027 to build your personal and professional skills, explore the community, and make connections that will last a lifetime. More details to come.
